KEVMAR developed a removable camper system that adds sleeping, storage and cooking functionality to people carriers and panel vans without requiring a permanent vehicle conversion.
The Problem
Vehicle owners wanted useful camping functionality without permanently converting a people carrier or panel van that still needed to serve as everyday transport.
The Constraint
The solution needed to use limited vehicle space efficiently, remain removable, assemble accurately and combine sleeping, storage and cooking functions in one practical structure.
The Thinking
The project started with the user need rather than a manufacturing process. KEVMAR worked from the required experience — weekday vehicle, weekend camper — and developed a modular structure around the available space and the need for repeatable manufacture.

CNC-routed wood components combined with fabrication, hardware and final assembly into a modular product system.
